The December draw of the Club Limerick Draw produced a popular winner last Saturday
Our very own Willy Mucahy was one of the lucky ones when his ticket was drawn from the drum
Our senior Hurlers continue to fill the pages of history books after their latest heroics in the Munster Club Championship.
Having played 11 Munster Club games since 2011 and remained unbeaten it was all put on the line yesterday in Semple Stadium in Thurles and a 4 th Munster Final appearance in 7 years.
Waterford 4 in a row Champions Ballygunner were our opponents this time around a repeat of the 2015 final.
Our buses were full and expectations were high but nevertheless an air of nervousness reigned.
We began well and had early scores from Adrian Breen and Ronan Lynch to settle us down.
Ballygunner also began well and matched us in the early moments before they received a slice of luck compliments of the slippery underfoot conditions and a goal inside 15 minutes.
They were well on top in the first half and could have been worse but for 2 late points from Peter Casey and Adrian Breen.
We trailed by a slender 1 point at the break 1-4 to 0-6.
We began the second half slowly also and Ballygunner had 2 quickfire points on the board.
Then came out first goal when Kevin Downes raced on to a loose ball and beared down on goal before offloading to David Breen who gave Stephen O Keefe no chance.
Adrian Breen added a point as did Ronan Lynch from a sideline.
Further points from Peter Casey, Kevin Downes(2) And Adrian Breen put us in to 4 point lead but once again we allowed Ballygunner back in with a soft but well taken goal and one that surely had to get cleared.
A severe test of character now for the lads and they answered it almost immediately with our second goal following good work from David Breen it was a toss up between Conor Boylan and Adrian Breen to force the ball home.
Our tails were now up and with minutes left a surging David Breen run ended with a bullet like shot to the roof of the Ballygunner net.
Game over and a 4th Munster crown in 7 years for this extremely talented bunch of players.
Final Score Na Piarsaigh 3-15 Ballygunner 2-10

Well done to our senior hurlers who qualified for yet another Munster Club Final with a good victory over Cork side Blackrock in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday.
Minus the services of ace attacker Shane Dowling we raced into an early lead with points from Peter Casey, Adrian Breen and Ronan Lynch had us 3 points up inside the first few minutes.
It was 8 points to 3 by the mid point of the half before Peter Casey crashed home a brilliant goal.
This was quickly followed by a green flag from David Breen.
We led at the break on a 2-11 to 0-6 scoreline.
The second half saw a series of substitutes with Gordon Brown, Kevin Ryan, Kieran Kennedy, James O Brien and Mike Foley all seeing action.
10 second half Ronan Lynch points 8 from placed balls were the second half highlight to seal a solid 2-26 to 0-10.
We now face Ballygunner of Waterford in the decider on November 19th in Thurles.
Our Intermediate camogie team were in Munster Club Junior Camogie final action on Sunday when Clanmaurice of Kerry arrived in town .
The game switched from Feohanagh to Mungret due to weather.
We got a tonic start with a goal from Jackie Maguire inside the first 5 minutes.
The Kerry side were back level mid way through the half but again we fought back with 2 points from Aoife Wilson and Sinead McNamara.
The work rate from the team was top notch with hooks and blocks a plenty with every girl working tirless,.
We went into the break all square 1-3 to 0-6.
Aoife Wilson had us back in front just after the restart but from there to the finish it was the Kerry Champions who did all the scoring.
A very brave effort from this young hard working team.
We look forward to our reappearance in the senior ranks for 2018
