Our under 21 footballers qualified for a County semi final on Thursday night when they put in a great performance to see off Abbeyfeale boys Fr Caseys in a cold Mick Neville Park
On a freezin cold night in Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale, our under 21 footballers turned in an excellent performance to see off Fr Caseys in the County quarter final.
We had the lions share of possession early on but our scores were slow in arriving at first but slowly we found our shooting boots and got some lovely scores.
First half scores from ace midfielder William O Donoghue(2), Peter Casey(2), Kieran Daly(2). Evan Condon(2). Dylan Cronin(1) and a well taken goal from David Dempsey had us firmly in the drivers seat at half time leading 1-9 to 1-2.
Playing with the breeze in the second half we again took control and got some furhter good scores from Evan Condon, Dylan Cronin, Peter Casey and an excellent team goal finished off by David Dempsey to leave us deserving winners on a final score of Na Piarsaigh 2-15 Fr Caseys 2-4.
Overall a very good performance with Mike Casey, Will O Donoghue, Peter Casey, Dylan Cronin and Evan Condon prominent.
Special word to corner forward Evan Egan who deputised in goals for the unavailable Luke Moylan.
