We must begin by congratulating our senior hurlers in qualify for the All Ireland Club hurling Final.
This will certainly be a St.Patricks Day with a difference as all roads will lead to headquarters for a battle with Ulster Champions Cushendall.
Please be patient while the gallery loads.
Fittingly the game was preceded by a minutes silence and applause for the late Christy Campbell who was no doubt looking down on us throughout.
We began Saturdays game very slowly and were 3 points in arrears early on.
However we slowly played ourselves into the game with points from David Dempsey, Shane Dowling and Peter Casey.
It was nip and tuck for much of the remainder of the half and lady luck shone down before the break when a long range free from Ronan Lynch misqued and ended up in the hand of David Breen who crashed the ball to the net.
That gave us a slender 1-8 to 9 point half time lead.
The second half was more positive with the lads opening up a 5 point lead mid way through the half but we were again pegged back and deep in injury time we conceded an equalising free to send the game to extra time.
In extra time our lads shows great belief and no little skill as they tacked on some superb points from Kevin Downes and Alan Dempsey.
Our fitness was crucial in this period and special mention must go to Darragh Droog who has the lads in great physical shape.
We must also give special mention to the supporters who were magnificent on the day.
It was great to hear “Na Piarsaigh being chanted around Thurles.
We look forward to hearing you all again on March 17th
The final score for the record was Na Piarsaigh 1-22 Oulart the Ballagh 0-20.
Incidentally our ace midfielder Will O Donoghue was awarded man of the match for a magnificent display of work rate and skill.
A couple of busy weeks in store but how sweet it is to be able to witness Na Piarsaigh perform on the biggest day in the club calender.
