Our senior hurlers were back in Championship action on Saturday where they travelled to nearby Clarina to face Intermediate Champions Bruree.
Following two consecutive defeats to Kilmallock and Doon in the first two rounds of the championship, it was imperative that we get back to winning ways.
With the team shuffled it was a chance to see players in new positions.
We began sharply and imposed our game on Bruree almost immediately with some great points from Ronan Lynch, Shane Dowling, Alan Dempsey and Kevin Downes.
Some excellent interplay and stout defending has us on the front foot throughout and our dominance was copper fastened by a goal from David Sheppard to leave us in total control at the break 1-15 to 0-1
The second half was continued where we left off with some excellent play and great discipline shown.
Further goals from David Breen, Shane Dowling with 2 one of which came from a 20 meter free, David Sheppard with 2 and Kevin Downes gave us a comfortable win.
We played well and had good displays from James O Brien, Mike Casey, Tommy Grimes, David Breen, Alan Dempsey and David Sheppard.
