Intermediate Camogie Champions 2017

All roads led to Clarina on Sunday morning for the much anticipated County Intermediate camogie final between Na Piarsaigh and Crecora.

Having met already this year in a very close game, it was inevitable that this game would follow similiar lines.

Playing against the stiff wind in the first half and also in an unfamiliar green jersey the girls began extremely well and matched Crecora stride for stride.

As the half wore on Crecora opened up a three point gap which they took into the break 0-5 to 0-2 with Aoife Wilson supplying the two pointed frees.

We got a tonic start to the second half when a long range Aoife Wilson free went all the way to the net.Game on.

Aoife added another free before mid way through the half Eva Meaney added our second goal following a save from the keeper.

Further points from Sinead Madden, Rachel Considine and a Sinead McNamara 65 sealed an excellent victory on a 2-7 to 0-7.

There were good performances all over the field on the day by the team.

Captain Claire Casey who had a fine game accepted the cup on behalf of he delighted team mates.

Well dome to all concerned on a great year for the team.
