Na Piarsaigh Limerick

Senior Football 2019

Na Piarsaigh 1.12
St Kieran’s 3.13

Our Senior Footballers commenced their season against St Kierans in a very windy Drumgoole Park on Saturday afternoon
Playing against the stiff breeze we were slow out of the blocks and after 12 minutes were 4 points down.
A couple of points from Kieran Daly and two frees from Eoin Hogan settled the team and we were more
assertive around the field.

After Good work from Evan o’Brien and Reuben McCarthy , Kieran Daly got on the end of a nice move to finish
to the bottom corner of the net. Unfortunately we missed a goal opportunity in the dying minutes of the half and
St Kierans swept up the field to punish us with a goal on the half hour to leave us traiing 1-5 to 1-9 at half time.

The second half conditions were more testing but the scores came easier for St Kierans.Na Piarsaigh battled away and scored some fine points
from Will Henn, Diarmaid Ryan and Anthony Kavanagh but two goals from Kieran’s were decisive.
Evan O’ Brien, Stephen O’ Halloran and Eoin Hogan worked hard and we wish Eoin a speedy recovery from injury.
