The story of Na Piarsaigh began in January 1968. This books chronicles the journey from humble beginnings to being crowned All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Champions in 2016. The club was founded primarily to bring Gaelic Games to the parishes of Our Lady of the Rosary and Christ the King. During the seventies football was more successful, winning our first county championship (U21) in 1973 and Intermediate Championship in 1975.
The 1980’s were a defining decade in the evolution of Na Piarsaigh into a force in Limerick. Huge success at underage level culminated in county minor and U21 hurling championships at the end of the decade. Winning the Intermediate Hurling Championship in 1994 saw us becoming senior for the first time.
The last ten years have seen huge success including winning five Senior Hurling County Championships, four Munster Club Championships and an All-Ireland Club Championship, six (in-a-row) U21 Hurling Championships and Intermediate Football Championship. To-date Na Piarsaigh boasts senior status in both hurling and football, as well as Camogie. Huge work has been carried out in recent years to the club facilities including 3 full-size playing pitches (one with flood-lights). With all the work both on and off the field Na Piarsiagh is well positioned for it’s next chapter in the years ahead.
